The work addressed climate change and called upon awakening in a playful manner.

concept

In 1981 a seal found its way to Breda. It lived on a boat at the canal for two weeks before it was captured and safely transferred to the center for aiding seals in the north. The visitor became popular among the people of the city who gave it the name Moby Dick.

But we failed to see the true purpose of Moby’s visit, for in fact, it was a inter dimensional messenger, who came to warn the people of Breda about climate change. Now, after 41 years, it’s once again time for it to return to Breda. But this time, it’s not alone.

QR code were situated at three locations around Breda (NL). Upon scanning a gate would appear:

  • A theater chair gate at the Chasse Theater

  • A cross gate at the big church

  • A bench gate at the Valkenberg park

Moby Dick would then appear and show us the way into the gate…

With their phone, the viewer would then walk in the world that was created…

In each world a messanger would appear, carrying a message…

The flying cage was telling climate related cracks about climate. He is an unsuccessful comedian…

The chimney prophet situated at the big church would warn us that time is running out…

The shaman actor who loves falafel would educate us that Shakespear himself was a vegetarian

The style was a combination of hand drawn textures and objects which were then projected on a simple geometry in C4D.

AR posters in memory of Joseph Bau

Commissioned by the Joseph Bau museum in Tel-Aviv

Inspired by the works and playfulness of late designer and illustrator Joseph Bau, I created three works that were presented in an exhibition at the museum. In each work a known phrase in Hebrew is reconstructed to a new phrase. The new phrase, even though grammatically coherent - doesn’t make much sense on its own the context and meaning are revealed by using the AR app.
